Please see below for information on how to remove the Cylinder from your chair.
Method 1:
- Tools Required
- Mallet
- An assistant to hold the chair
- Have the assistant hold the chair off the ground and strike the bottom of the
basic housing and the top of the cylinder repeatedly until the cylinder separates from
the basic housing
Method 2:
- Tools Required
- Retaining ring pliers
- 6 inch modal rod such as an extension from a socket wrench
- Metal hammer
- An assistant to hold the chair
- Remove two rear retaining rings from the seat channel pins and remove seat channel pins. If equipped with a headrest, remove the lower pin from the headrest rod.
- Flip seat forward to expose the internal mechanism of the chair
- Have the assistant hold the chair about one inch off the ground.
- Place the metal rod on the top of the cylinder
- Strike metal rod with hammer with several quick blows to knock the cylinder free from the basic housing
Reassemble chair in reverse order
